Apple iOS in-house software

It is possible to provision in-house software to Apple iOS devices that are enrolled with DME.

To do so,

  1. Navigate to Provisioning > Software > Other software.
  2. Click the Upload software action in the tab toolbar:

  3. Select the program file (the .IPA file). DME will automatically include a picture file for the app icon. This picture should be a 512x512 pixel .PNG file. Note that in order for the users to be able to install iOS software, a provisioning profile allowing the installation of the in-house app must have been pushed to the devices first.
  4. Click Upload to place the software on the DME server.
  5. In the Software information dialog, make sure to complete the mandatory fields. The Identifier field is the app identifier that matches the identifier registered by the provisioning profile for this app - something like com.companyname.appname. If you do not fill in the identifier, the device cannot verify (and run) the app.
  6. Click Save.

The in-house software can now be pushed to enrolled devices in a process similar to that described for Apple iOS profiles - see Send Apple iOS configuration profile.
