File browser

In this section of the DME Administration interface you can set up AppBox File Browser remote locations. When a remote location is defined, DME clients can access files on one or more WebDAV-enabled file servers using the AppBox File Browser. Each WebDAV-enabled server location is called a file share.

Files being copied or moved to or from the client device or between file shares are encrypted at all stages of the transfer by G/On encryption or HTTPS. Temporary files will be created on the DME server machine. These are also encrypted, and removed immediately after the copy or move operation has been completed (whether successfully or not).

To enable access to remote locations from AppBox File Browser, you must

  1. Set up WebDAV on a Windows server.
  2. Create file shares in the DME administration web interface.
  3. In the G/On server, grant users permission to view the file shares through the AppBox File Browser.

These steps are described in the following.

Log messages from the AppBox File Browser can be made to appear in the Log tab of the DME Server. For more information, see Logging AppBox File Browser.
