Setting up WebDAV

To make remote locations available to AppBox users, you must set up a WebDAV server. You can do this by adding WebDAV capabilities to MS Internet Information Server (IIS). Other systems, notably SharePoint, also provide WebDAV services.

To set up WebDAV services on Internet Information Server, follow the instructions for your version of the Windows server. Please note that your installation may have special requirements, and that no two installations are the same.

A guide, which can help you in the right direction, is available for partners at the DME Resource Center. Note that the WebDAV server is not part of the DME environment.

After correctly enabling WebDAV, you can proceed to set up the DME Remote File Browser Menu Action. For more information, see the AppBox Configuration guide, which is available at the DME Resource Center.

Large files
If you are planning to exchange large files using the AppBox File Browser, please be aware of the default setting for requestLimits in the WebDAV server setup. You can see this in the IIS Manager Configuration Editor, under system.webServer/security/requestFiltering. Here you can change the maximum allowed content length from the default value of 30 million bytes (approx. 28 MB) in IIS 7 and 7.5 to a larger value in bytes.
