You can use DME for mobile device management (MDM) - meaning that you can install (provision) software to and perform various operations on devices. Some devices must be enrolled with DME for this to work. This depends on the operating system of the device and on what you want to do.
In the following, your MDM options are described for each supported platform: Android, Apple iOS, and Windows Phone. Legacy platforms are described in Appendix H: Provisioning on legacy platforms. The legacy platforms are: Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and Java.
If you are using an external MDM system such as SOTI MobiControl, nothing of what is described in the following applies. Please refer to Appendix B: External MDM integration instead.
