VoIP gives users the option to make calls via a 3rd party Voice over IP app. When users is making calls from within DME, they are presented with a choice of using either the phone or the VoIP app. Different VoIP apps can be set for Android and iOS.
- The URI schema is used to launch the app. It is different for each VoIP app.
As an example, using the Japanese 050 plus for Biz app, launching the app requires this URI:com050voipbiz://keypad?tel=
To make it automatically call the phone number called from DME, use this notation:com050voipbiz://keypad?tel=%(phoneNumber) - Description is a name that will be presented to the users.
- App link is a link to the app on iTunes Store and Google Play, respectively. This is so users can download the app, in case they don't already have it on their device.
If you have users in multiple countries, make sure to use an app that is available for them. In case different apps are required, you can make groups for particular countries.
