New releases of DME

On August 17th, we released two new versions of the DME Server: 4.0 and 3.6 SP3.

With 4.0, we picked the first fruits of our integration with Giritech: DME now supports a secure launchpad for corporate apps, called DME AppBox. DME interacts with a G/On server to provision HTML5 apps to the devices. The apps run within the secure container of DME, and no data is leaked outside the container. AppBox is already available in the DME iOS version, and will be added to Android shortly.

New clients for Android and Apple iOS

An error was found in version 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 of the DME client for Android: Folder synchronization did not work when synchronizing against a version 3.5 server.

Folder sync. now works correctly with all supported servers.

Version 4.0.2 will be released on Google Play and on this site on Tuesday morning, July 31st.

Apple iOS

In about one week from now, the DME client 4.0.1 will be released on the Apple App Store.

The main reason for this release is to fix an issue where the client could crash when an e-mail was deleted (on iPads only).

Apart from this, a new feature has been added: You can now use DME to e-mail attachments from 3rd party apps instead of having to use the built-in (usually personal) mail account - if attachment uploads are allowed by the DME server settings.
